What a fabulous anniversary. One of my (our) favorite entertainers came to town. Who'd've thunk?! I mean really.
Podunk, USA gets Elton John?? And for two nights in a row?
We'll take him! It'll never happen again, I'm sure. I know, I know...never say never. But I didn't. I said 'never again.' *w*
It was wonderful, what can I say? He is SO high energy. The music is fantastic. The show was brilliant. We had "quite" good seats - on the floor, but about 20 rows back from the stage. I wish we'd been about 19 rows closer, but with 12,000 people in the arena, I can't argue with these seats. He played for over 2 1/2 hours and had the crowd on their feet almost the entire time. He jumped around stage, leaped off the piano, did "kicks" out from the keyboard.....acted like he was 30 instead of 60. His voice is pure magic though. He's said that he thinks his voice has only improved over the years and I'd tend to agree.
I'd go again in a second. In a millisecond, in fact.
I know I'm missing some, but this is an approximate set list from that night.
"I'm Still Standing"
"The Bitch is Back"
"Tiny Dancer"
"Levon"
"Believe"
"Holiday Inn"
"Take Me to the Pilot"
"Yellow Brick Road"
"Daniel"
"Rocket Man"
"Crocodile Rock"
"Madman Across the Water"
"Honky Cat"
"I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues"
"Burn Down the Mission"
"Pinball Wizard"
"The Bridge"
"Candle in the Wind"
"Bennie and the Jets"
"Philadelphia Freedom"
"Something About the Way You Look Tonight"
"Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word"
"Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me"
"Sad Songs (Say So Much)"
"Your Song"
This were all spaced between a fantastic set of improvisations on the piano. The man is genius.
Now....if we could only get Prince over here!

Thank you!
'Twas super!! I've heard of some people actually being in the same town as he and not going to his shows. Strange that, eh?
LOL!! Very strange people.
