And Then There Were 7

Mariah Carey week....

I know that many were bothered with the theme this week, but I have to say that I don't even know enough about MC to be bothered (or excited for that matter). It should be known that I didn't expect to know any of the songs this week (and it played out almost as I expected!). I DO admit that I am surprised that this was a theme for the week, given that Randy is constantly ragging on singers for trying to duplicate the divas. Any one else notice how Ryan tried to divert blame for the choice of the theme? As he was addressing Randy in the beginning of the show..."production chose the theme..." ('So don't write any hate mail to the judges' was assumed at the end of that sentence, I think).

David A.
- Ummmm...nice? I guess. It was fine. Nothing special for me this week.

Carly - Hey - (as predicted by someone!) I actually recognized this song! I didn't like the beginning of the song. I thought that about mid-way through she started owning it. Obviously it didn't live up to what Simon thought it should.

Syesha - Didn't recognize it, didn't hate it. Didn't love it. Was fine.

Brooke - DID recognize it. Enough to know that there were some mistakes. *sigh* I love Brooke. I don't want her to go this week. HOLD ON, BROOKE!!!

Kristy Lee - Blerg. Didn't know the song. Didn't like the performance. btw - I don't believe that KLC gave MC chills. I think she didn't actually want to say, "you made me want to cry. and not in a good way."

David C. - I really liked it. I didn't know the song, but I liked it. I like his voice and thought that the performance was great. His brother (who has brain cancer that has spread to his spine) was in the audience for the first time tonight. The tears at the end were real and it warms my heart (and breaks it all the same).

Jason - Jason my dear! Great performance. He does his thing and I love it. I have no idea what the song was, but Jason's take on it made me happy, happy, HAPPY!! How can anyone NOT love him?

There REALLY should be 4 weeks in a row of females going home. Starting with Syesha or KLC.
