Grrrr....how can it be so difficult?
Okay, so when I started this job about 4 years ago I requested an email address. My employer granted me the email address I wanted. Simple enough, right?
So, I start with borden@osu.org. Nice and simple. Straightforward. Easy. Just the way I like it.
Then all of the sudden I start getting emails that are addressed to these other email addresses (but that are coming into my borden@osu.org mailbox). They are the following:
borden@ce.osu.org
dixie.borden@ce.osu.org
dixie.borden@ce.af.osu.org
and then yesterday, I see that when people respond to all mail that I send out, replies are directed to
dixie.borden@osu.org
WTF??? 5 email addresses - every possible incantation of my name and my organization??
Good Lord. What is the deal?
All of this happened without asking me anything, of course. It wouldn't be so bad except that now (now that many of these have somehow been made known to many people around the universe) most of them are not working.
GAH!
Can I puhleeeeze just have borden@osu.org back? pretty please?

Good Lord, how does that happen?
I find it difficult keeping up with the (too many) ones I've opened myself.
Jeez, you'll be ending up with half a dozen blogs next! heh.
So what is the story behind the name of your blog? "The Tao of Holls"
*Rockstar
Rockstar!! (good to see you in these parts!)
Good question.
Well, I recently re-read (for about the 5th time) The Tao of Pooh. Highly recommended book, if you haven’t picked up a copy yet. There is such truth, honesty and enlightenment in the book. It resonates deeply with me. I don’t (often) fancy myself a dimwitted bear (arguments to the contrary will be accepted in another box) but I *connect* with Pooh, quite a lot.
I have always tried my best to roll with the punches and accept the things that life throws my direction, whatever they might be. This is sort of what I take away from the book – the Tao philosophy: Appreciate, learn from and roll with whatever comes your way. Realize that change/obstacles/difficulty is often put into our lives for a very good reason and that we shouldn’t always question it and push back. Rather, learn from it and move ahead – and experience happiness in the process and as an outcome. Of course, I do this all from a Christian perspective rather than an Eastern religion perspective (which might cause the world to stand on its head, I'm not sure!!) but, honestly....I think Jesus might be okay with it.
That all said…I reserve the right to rant at whatever I feel particularly fed-up with at any point in time. *grins* I’m not quite Pooh yet. I’m simply on my way. :) Accepting change doesn’t mean accepting idiocy. I will stand up for/against certain things with GUSTO.
And the Holls part is self-explanatory. Hippie parents that I have, giving me a middle name like Hollywood. *shrugs* What's a girl to do? Close friends (yes, you can come into the circle) have shortened it to Holls.
C'mon back, anytime
